
D Will is a transsexual writer based in Iowa City, Iowa. She is a fourth-year English & Creative Writing and Screenwriting Arts student at the University of Iowa. She is originally from Detroit, Michigan.
In 2023, her short story Send My Regards to Corporate Pie received the 7th annual Iowa Chapbook Prize. She is the only undergraduate to have received the award as a first-year student. She is the writer and director of the short film Granny’s Kinky Sex Book, which received the Audience Pick award at Iowa City’s 2024 Open Screen film festival. In 2026, her screenplay Ugly Dreams (of Transsexuality) received the Dewey Stuit Fund for Undergraduate Research.
During the summer of 2025, she was an intern at Curate, a talent management agency based in Los Angeles, California. She has been published in various collegiate literary journals, including Fools, snapshots, Boundless, and Spires. She is the president of The Doily Allergen, a satire newspaper at the University of Iowa. She is the Design Editor of Orlando, the University of Iowa’s only Queer literary journal. She has had essays and short stories featured in Midwestern Citizen.
